 SSL Certificate works for WWW for my Domain?

Hi,
Does SSL Certificate works for WWW if you buy it for a Domain?
If I buy an SSL for example.com do I need another one for www.example.com? as it suppose to be a subdomain!

I have tried two Secure Certificates, RapiSSL (digicert) and Sectigo (Comodo).
This will work with Sectigo if you buy your certificate for yourdomain.com it will work for www.yourdomain.com
NOT for rapidSSL since owned by Digicert you have to buy another one for www.yourdomain.com
If you tried another company like Thawte, Norton, Geotrust or you know other Secure certificate auth please post it.
